Volunteer Opportunities Available

Client Ambassador Volunteer

Greet our adult clients and assist them when they arrive and leave our building. Most of our clients are transported via a cab service to and from the Lighthouse. Client Ambassador Volunteers greet clients when they arrive and ensure they safely enter the building. The volunteer will also assist the clients as needed in the building to locate the classrooms, the lunchroom and the restrooms.

Alumni Program Volunteer

Do you have a hobby, talent or interest you would like to share with people who are visually impaired or blind? If so, consider facilitating a class during the Lighthouse’s monthly Alumni Program.

Adults and seniors who have completed their training meet on the first Thursday of each month. This is a fun day for our former clients to meet with their friends, share experiences and enjoy a day at the Lighthouse. Presently, we offer classes in Current Events, Trivia, Music Appreciation, Technology Assistance and games including Texas Holdem. The Alumni Program Volunteer would prepare the content material for the class and then conduct the class. The classes are offered from 10:00 am – noon and 12:30pm – 2:15pm in the afternoon. You can choose either timeframe and we are open to a variety of classes that would be interesting and engaging for adults and seniors.
